What Happened?:
Digi International announced on October 26, 2011 that we have experienced an interruption of the operations of a contract manufacturer in Thailand due to extensive flooding in that country.
Digi's Strategy:
We are committed to limiting the impact to our customers as much as possible. Digi is actively establishing replacement capacity that may be provided by an alternative facility of the affected manufacturer in Thailand that has not been flooded, our own manufacturing facility in the United States and other qualified third party manufacturers. We will be closely managing this issue until all supply chain impacts are fully resolved.
Digi will maintain this webpage for the duration of the situation to ensure timely communication with our customers. The most up-to-date information will be made available here and you can also register for email updates.
Which Products Are Affected?
Several product families are impacted. The extent to which each SKU is impacted is under evaluation. You can use the search function to enter a SKU to learn whether or not it has been impacted.
It is important to stress that each product family will likely be impacted differently because of inventory that remains on hand, our ability to regain production for that particular product family (which may depend on the availability of specific material, equipment, or tooling) as well as differences in the general customer demand for the SKU.
How Will This Impact Our Orders?
Digi has released the general shipping hold on products for which we anticipated impacts from the flooding of our contract manufacturer in Thailand. Many products may still have extended lead times as a result of the flooding. We continue to develop supply chain solutions that will allow these products to return to normal lead times. Until then, orders for impacted parts will be managed carefully and provided with an estimated ship date after acceptance of order. Current orders on our backlog will be provided with updated estimated ship date if necessary. As we work through this issue, some SKUs may be placed on allocation to ensure the best possible level of service to our customers.
